Lunch At Fuji Japanese Restaurant-Panama City ,Florida

We saw the ad that Fuji Restaurant has a grand opening, so we went to try it out. They Had Japanese "All You Can Eat Buffet".I think they had just opened about a few week only.
Fuji Japanese Restaurant is located on 232,S .Tyndall Parkway ,Panama City ,Florida.

When we arrived about 1 pm, we noticed the parking lot is empty, just a few cars. The building is decorated with colorful flags and at the entrance are two big stones Kirin lions. As we walked in, we noticed just a few Japanese Art decor. There is a
Wishing well fountain and there are mostly Chinese decorations, Chinese wind charms,green Chinese roof on the Hibachi Tables, and all chinese waitresses and chef.This restaurant is actually owned by Chinese.

There are about 7 hot bar, 2 sushi bar, a cold bar ,a Hibachi Grill and a Mongolian Grill(What is the difference, they look the same)
On the Sushi Bar, there is a variety of different sushi, California roll,Eel roll,Sashimi and many colorful roll. Also Japanese Salad-seaweed salad. On the cold bar, are salad bar, fruits and some condiments.

Over at the hot bar, you are surprised that most of the dishes are typically Chinese favourites-Sesame Chicken,Broccoli Chicken,Lomein, Fried Rice. I did not see any
Japanese dishes. Not even Miso Soup, only Hot and Sour Soup and Egg drop soup.

At the Hibachi Grill , you can pick up your own choice of meat,shrimp,pork,Beef or chicken, and vegetables-onions,green pepper, beansprouts,mushroom and noodles. They are all fresh and raw and you let the Hibachi Chef cook it for you on the grill . I tried to check out the difference between Hibachi and Mongolian. I saw a handwritten note pasted that said Mongolian sauce is sweeter. I guess not much difference.

After finished we tried some fruits. I wanted to try the cakes, but my husband said it was too sweet.

Out ticket came up to $19.10 for lunch, about 8.99 a person. Not bad, consider it cost that much for a plate of sushi or Hibachi if you go to an authentic Japanese Restaurant. However, the service is not that satisfied. After, serving our drinks, we hardly see any waitresses around, consider there were only 5 or 6 tables of customers.So only $3.00 tips.

Cost=reasonable
Service=Fair
Food= Average.

Fuji is opened everyday from 10.30 am to 9.30 pm.

Joan's Birthday at Chow Time

It was my best friend, Joan's birthday on Wednesday . She and her kids, Amanda,John and my youngest son ,had came to Panama City for a vacation. After having fun at the beach, sunbathing,swimming, beach walk , shopping at Pier Park's Mall and eating lunch at Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, they are leaving in the morning.

So I decided to take them out for lunch at Chow Time Buffet and Grill. This is actually a Chinese restaurant serving super buffet with Chinese, American,Mexican and Japanese food. Almost 250 items,and lunch is only $6.99.

We love the sushi, the grilled Salmon and the best is their Beef Ribs. A giant piece of Beef ribs with tangelizing sauce. Not a lot of meat but delicious. Other items include a great variety of shrimps,chicken, and stir fried. Also A desert bar, Fruit bar, salad bar and ice cream bar.

After the meal , I told the waiter, it was my friend's birthday and he went in to prepare us a birthday cake. All the waiters came around to sing Joan a Happy Birthday song. She was really happy.

We had great lunch and happy moments. The ticket came up to $46.65.Very reasonable for a great lunch

Lunch at O'Charlie,Alabaster,Alabama

I spent the weekend at Alabaster, Alabama. This small city has developed so much since the last 10 years. There is a Strip Mall with big businesses like Target,Best Buy,Books A Million and a Super WalMart.Also many great restaurants like Olive Garden, Taco Bell, Buffalo Wings ,O Charlies are found there.
Sunday, we had lunch at O'Charlie.
They were quite busy but we did not wait to long for a table. Nice and Cozy environment ,very clean.
We ordered our drink, coffee for me as usual and water with lemon for my husband.
The waiter was fast to bring us a basket of rolls. They were the best rolls, freshly bake with a sweet glaze on top.
We ordered the combination plate, a choice of two entrees, with soup or salad and one side order for $12.99 .
I had the Fried Country Catfish and Sirloin steak with Pilaf rice and Tomatoes/Tortilla Soup.My Husband had the Baby Back Ribs and Grilled Chicken Breast with Salad and Fully Loaded Bake Potato.
We got our soup and salad . I loved my soup, has a little spicy and tangy taste .I was already full with the soup and rolls.The waiter brought us more rolls.
Waited for about 15 minutes for our main course. The catfish was well breaded with cornmeal and fried to golden brown, the sirloin was medium well . I did enjoyed my lunch,but I did not quite like the rice, just plain boiled Uncle Ben's.
My husband's plate of Baby Back Rib and Grilled Chicken Breast has a fully loaded Bake Potato with lots of butter, and bacon bits, The baby rib was small, but marinated well. We could not finish , so we had leftover to take home.
Our check comes up to $30.00 Plus $3.00 tips.
Food Rating Good, Service Good, Price, Affordable.
