Graduation's Dinner At Chef's Lee II,Columbus,Ga

At Last, my youngest son Joel is graduating from High School. After all those years of helping with homework and assignment, driving to and fro to school and after school activities, I am ready to relax now. But still have to worry on what future path he is going to take. He opts for Culinary Arts, so wish him all the best.

After the graduation ceremony at University Hall,Columbus State University , we decided to have dinner at TGIF but when we reached there , they told us we have to wait another 1-2 hours. In fact there were not that busy. Every was hungry so instead we decided to go for Chinese Food and Chef's Lee II, located at Bradley Park Drive.

Chef's Lee is one of the upper class Chinese Restaurant in Columbus, It is very beautiful, like a palace. As you walked in there is a bridge over the pond with Koi fishes. Inside is decorated with antique Decor. Very vintage look. On the background is soft Chinese music.

There were 11 of us plus a baby, David. Joel, Mandy, Tham and Girlfriend , Charmant and Girlfriend, Henry, Me and Aaron, Jonathan and Rachel. Joan and John did not come as she was mad with Mandy.

We ordered Dumpling and Pu Pu Platter for appetizer. Looks like the Pu Pu Platter was not enough. For the main almost everyone ordered the Mongolian Beef, which is one of the popular dish served here. I ordered Crispy duck and one of the girls ordered Chicken Lo Mein.

Took about 15 minutes for the food to be served. We did not have to wait too long as they were not too busy after 9.30 pm.They served quite a lot of food. Everyone loved the Mongolian Beef, but my crispy duck were a bit dry. I also ordered me a Pina Colada. It was good.

After dinner, the waiter brought us the ticket with fortune cookies and fresh cut oranges. Ticket came up to $129.00 plus $20.00 tips.

I do recommend Chef's Lee if you want some good Chinese Food with Great environment. Cost is not too high. And they also Korean food , you have to ask for the Korean Menu.Every Year Chef's Lee is one of the Top Ten Chinese Restaurant in the United States Top Chinese Restaurant Competition. And this year, Chef's Lee is one of the top in the International Restaurant Competition in Beijing. Go try some good authentic food in Chef's Lee.

Water Tank Collapsed in Columbus,Ga

The largest water tank in Muscogee County collapsed early Saturday morning sending about 6 million gallons of water -- equal to 10 Olympic-sized swimming pools -- onto J.R. Allen Parkway, River Road and into a nearby residential area.

The open-top steel tank was located on a hill at the Columbus Water Works treatment facility between River Road and J.R. Allen. It failed shortly before 4 a.m.

The collapse has not disrupted the city’s water supply, Water Works President Bob Tant said Saturday morning as he surveyed the damage. The eastbound lane of J.R. Allen was closed from Second Avenue to Bradley Park until about 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Columbus Fire and Emergency Medical Services and Columbus Police responded. There was a search and rescue operation on the river shortly before dawn by Columbus Fire and EMS, Columbus Police Lt. Jennifer Dunford said.

A man is known to fish late at night in the area where the water went back into Lake Oliver. About noon, Fire and EMS divers were preparing to go into the lake, when the man’s family brought him to retrieve his truck, said Fire and EMS Deputy Chief for Operations Robert Futrell. The handicapped fisherman had left the river before the tank failure.

One motorist drove into the debris on J.R. Allen and was slightly injured, Dunford said.

There was debris on J.R. Allen and River Road, but most of it was cleared by mid-morning.

Damage to high-voltage power lines is going to take longer to fix.

Power transmission structures that hold the electrical lines were heavily damaged. At least two metal poles were leaning significantly.

Power to the lines, which carry 115,000 volts and a nearby substation, was cut off early Saturday, said Robert Watkins, external affairs manager for Georgia Power Co. in Columbus.

It did not disrupted power to any homes in the area, Watkins said.

The primary issue is going to be replacing the structure, which could take up to four days to repair.

“We are concerned about the stability of the situation,” Watkins said Saturday about noon. “We are putting all the resources we have to get the structure back up.”

Crews could not immediately reach the site with equipment needed to start the repairs. That forced the company to cut a separate road into property.

One of the things working for us is the mild weather, Watkins said.

“If this were the middle of summer, it would be a much different situation.”

When the tank failed, the water rushed off the hill in multiple directions. The bulk of the water went toward J.R. Allen, onto the eastbound lane, then into a storm drain, under the westbound lane and down toward the city marina. Some of the water went onto Moss Drive, where some homes appeared to suffer minor water damage. Water also went down the Water Works drive off River Road. It damaged landscaping and fencing on the Water Works property.

The metal tank, which was a long line of crumpled steel, was at the bottom of the hill just off J.R. Allen. The tank was constructed in 1965 and regularly inspected, Tant said.

“This is a very unusual and strange situation,” Tant said.

Tant and top Water Works officials were preplexed Saturday morning as they surveyed the damage.

“If you had told us to make a list of the top 10, 20 or even 30 disasters that could happen, this would not have made the list,” Tant said. “This is totally unexpected.”

There was one Water Works official at the plant when the tank failed. He was not injured, Tant said. The Water Works had to briefly shut down the plant briefly, Tant said.

“We have always had the ability to take that tank off line,” Tant said. “We can bypass the tank, but it will make things a little more difficult for us.” The tank, the only one of its kind in the 12-tank Water Works system, held untreated river water pumped out of Lake Oliver.

Where the tank once stood, there was just a concrete pad and a metal flooring on an area where the tank stood for nearly 45 years.

The Water Works has begun an investigation of the failure, Tant said.

The structure was insured, Tant said. Insurance agents were being called to inspsect the damage.

“There is no pointing in speculating,” Tant said. “We need to find out what happened. We will get people on the site today.”

Mayor Jim Wetherington, who is on the five-member Water Board, was out of town Saturday, but he had been informed of the failure and was monitoring the situation. City Manager Isaiah Hugley, Assistant to the Mayor Judy Thomas and Fire and EMS Chief Jeff Meyer had all been in contact with the mayor during the day.

Futrell, the Fire and EMS deputy chief, said the timing of the collapse was perfect to avoid major injuries.

“It happened at the best time it could have happened,” Futrell said.

Dinner at Mandarin House

Thursday's nite, we had dinner at the Mandarin House, Columbus,Georgia.
Mandarin House has been in Columbus for many years at Airport Thruway, but has moved to this new location on Veterans Parkway a few years ago.

They serve both Chinese and Korean Cuisine and a little Japanese and Thai cooking.
We usually ordered the Kapit(the BBQ ribs, Korean style) Thin sliced of Beef Ribs seasoned well and grilled .

Another dish is the Mapo Tofu. This is not on the menu although they have other Tofu dishes. You can ask the Lady boss to cook according to your request.The Mapo tofu is a plate of Tofu with sliced of pork , mushroom, onions and hot chili peppered. A little spicy,sweet and sour.

We were a little disappointed with the ribs this time. It has no taste, not marinated.The Tofu dish is good.

The waitress bought us some sweet cookies and our check, came up to $17.00.Service,Good.

Terrible Weather This Weekend.

This week we were having some terrible weather. It started to rain on Thursday's evening and throughout the whole night and all Day Friday.It was heavy ,windy and a lot of thunders and lightning.

Homes, churches and other buildings in Salem, Ala., were damaged or destroyed Saturday morning after a tornado packing winds up to 130 mph ripped through the area.

The National Weather Service in Birmingham, Ala., reported the tornado touched down south of U.S. 280/431 near Salem at 9:26 a.m. EST. It moved northeast and crossed the highway, cutting a swath about 500 yards wide for 2.6 miles before lifting off four minutes later.

The tornado uprooted or snapped hundreds of trees along its path. A semitrailer overturned along U.S. 280/431. One school, two churches and at least 17 homes were heavily damaged, but no serious injuries or deaths were reported, the National Weather Service said.

The storm was an F2 tornado, which means it had winds of 125-130 mph. The tornado was part of a severe storm that flooded homes in south Phenix City and Columbus and dumped at least 2.7 inches of rain.

And we woke up this morning with 2 inches of snow. It was terrible and too dangerous to drive. We went to church but we have to cancel our trip to Atlanta as we expected more snow to come and it was not advisable to drive anywhere.

We played a little with the beautiful snow, making snowman and throwing snowballs. It has been almost 10 years since we last have snow in the valley.

Georgia Power reports about 1,000 customers were without power late Sunday afternoon in the Ellerslie area. A caller to News Leader 9 reported an outage in the area of Matthews Elementary School. In addition, Georgia Power estimates 700 customers lost service in Pine Mountain.

Muscogee County schools announced around 5:30 p.m. there will be no school Monday, including no evening high school. Spokesperson Valerie Fuller says any closings and delays will be passed to parents and employees through the Connect-ED telephone messaging service.

Flint River Academy in Woodbury was the first school to cancel Monday classes. The Monday night open house is canceled as well, Headmaster Marlowe Hinson said. Taylor County, Chattahoochee County and Marion County schools also were called off. (Check our separate stories on closings and "open for business" for a complete list.)

It was snowy enough to shut down the Columbus Public Library for the day, as well as call off several church services. The storm was extra dangerous because of "thundersnow," which was reported around 1:15 p.m. by a caller in northern Marion County. Lightning can be very hard to spot when snow obscures the clouds.

Alabama state troopers advised against traveling unless it's absolutely necessary. One WTVM staff member reported seeing three crashes in the Buena Vista Road and Schatulga Road areas. And Columbus resident Lowanna Richardson says even a small incline in the Belvedere Park neighborhood was enough for some cars to become stuck.

But some Columbus store owners told us they remain open, and encouraged people to go outside and shop.

Meteorologist Derek Kinkade says the snow is not likely to be strong enough to knock down trees and power lines. But he adds some overnight icing of roads and bridges is possible.

The storm had an impact far beyond Columbus. A Georgia Power spokesman told News Leader 9 about 42,000 customers lost service statewide, in an area stretching from Columbus to Atlanta to Athens. The spokesman explained strong winds were to blame.

Callaway Garden is offering Free Admission

PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. - A west Georgia resort is opening its gates free of charge for the next two months.

Guests at Callaway Gardens won't have to shell out the $13 admission for adults and $6.50 ticket for children until March. Spokeswoman Rachel Crumbley said the move is to give visitors a little extra padding in their pocketbooks as the nation's economic slumps worsens.

Callaway Gardens opened in 1952 as a five-mile scenic drive. Today it is a sprawling resort with a golf course, rental cottages, miles of walking trails and acres of lush gardens.

Callaway Gardens also has a great vegetables garden, with all kinds of vegetables and a flower garden. There is a butterfly garden with different varieties of butterflies.

You will enjoy miles of walking trails or bike trails with beautiful nature , peace and quietness.Also a lake where you can swim and another to ride on the paddle boat.

Budweiser Clydesdales at The Landings in Columbus

Hundreds of adults and children filled The Landings shopping center Friday afternoon to watch as the Budweiser Clydesdales paraded around the center's parking lot on the first day of a two-day visit.

The Clydesdales will also be at The Landings Saturday from 3-6 p.m.

There are five traveling Clydesdale teams that perform at more than 500 events across the country each year. Each caravan consists of three custom-built vans. Two vans carry the horses while a third transports the red brewery wagon, feed, portable stalls, harnesses and other gear.

It was Amanda and John Carroll's Birthday last week. We had a small party for them on last Sunday . We decided to eat at the Jumbo China Super Buffet. We, The Tans and The Carrolls and The Mas had lunch there. We went early at 1130 am so we can have all the fresh food and before the Churches' crowd.
We sat at the party room.

Jumbo China Super Buffet is located at 2435,Wynnton Road. This building was a spa place. They renovated it in to a Jumbo Buffett restaurant serving Oriental food. The Lunch Buffet is only $5.95 Daily from 11.00 am to 3.30 pm. Dinner Buffet is $8.55.Children under 10 is $2.99 For lunch and $3.99 for dinner.

This is very affordable and a good deal.Senior Citizen and military enjoys 10% off. And if you want carry out , Lunch is $2.99 per pound,dinner $3.99 per pound.

On the Buffet line , you find a fruits and dessert bar, a Sushi Bar, 2 Hot bars, with fried food and stir fried. Also soup and dim sum . And best of all they had a terriyaki grill. On the sushi bar is a variety of hand roll sushi, California roll, eel sushi,shrimp and spider roll. The Dessert bar has lots of fruits, oranges, Honey dew melons,mandarin oranges,lychees and different kind of cakes and cookies. I loved the Coffee Chocolate Cake. They also served cocktail shrimp and Mussells and Oyster.
There are more than 100 items. At Dinner time, they also served King Crabs.

The food are very fresh, and good service.

Everyone ate so much. We bought our Birthday cake,Italian Creme Cheese. Sang Birthday song and Mandy blew the candles. Had a great time and very satisfying lunch.

I do recommend Jumbo China Super Buffet for a great affordable lunch.

Callaway Garden's Annual Fall Festival

Callaway Gardens' annual Fall Festival kicks off this weekend with a
vintage auto show.

Hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday-Sunday now through Oct. 26 at the
Gardens, which is about 35 miles north of Columbus on Ga. 18. Tickets
are $13; $6.50 for children, ages 6-12; free for children ages 5 and
younger. Tax is additional.

Most of the activities are on Robin Lake Beach's West Beach.

The Monarch Butterfly tagging begins at 10 a.m. in Mr. Cason's
Vegetable Garden.

Mr. Cason's Great Pumpkin Patch is where families can go to pick out
a pumpkin. They cost $2-$7. Kids and adults can paint the pumpkins
under a tent.

The Georgia-Alabama antique car show is 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday and
Sunday and features 19 different car classes.

Barbecue is served both days from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Also, there will be

Instead of having Korean Food for Lunch at the Mandarin house with my new friend, Elizabeth, we decided to go for Indian food at the Taj Mahal.

As you entered you will be wondering whether this is An Indian Restaurant or Chinese Restaurant.Despite the color combination of Indian Flavor, this restaurant is decorated with Chinese Decor, Chinese Ceiling , Chinese Lanterns and Painting. You see the story behind this, is this was a Chinese Restaurant before. The Famous China Star which was famous in Columbus many years ago. The new Indian Restaurant Owner decided to keep it as it was.

The food is not bad. I loved the Curry,Briyani Rice and the Roti but one bite on the Chutney turned Sour. It was so Sour,Spicy and Salty. I guess you have to mixed just a little with your rice or roti to eat it. Another thing is the CheesseBall, it was way too sweet. My sugar just ran high with one bite.

I understood that lunch buffet was $6.99 per person, but we did not ask how our che ck came up to $23.12 for 2 person. Something is missing here.

Beside Buffet, Taj Mahal also serve a variety of Indian Cuisine.

Briyani- Basmati rice cooked with your choice of shrimp, chicken or lamb.
Chappati- Thin Whole Wheat Rosted Bread.
Chutney- Pickle Vegetables, Sour, Salty and Spicy
Chicken Masala-Boneles Chicken cooked in Special Masala Sauce.
Chicken Kurma- Boneless Chicken with Yogurt,Nuts And Spices
Onion Bhajia- Onion Fritters served with Chutney
Vegetable Samosa- Crispy Turnover,deliciously filled with Mildly spiced ootatoes and green peas.

If you loved Spicy food, I recommend the Taj Mahal.

Bike Ride at Carver Park

It is a hot Sunday, we decided to ride our bikes at the park. It has been a very long time since I last rode my bike. As we aged, we need to exercise more. We loaded up our bikes on the truck and headed to Carver Park, off Sychtalga Road.
Carver Park is a very big park with Walking and Bicycle Trails, A lake where you can fish and enjoying the scenes of the Ducklings and Geese swimming .
There are a few Shaded Sheds, with picnic tables and a lot of barbecue pits. A children playground with swings and slide, and a basketball court.
There are a lot of pine and oak trees and I saw a few persimmon trees, with little fruits hanging.
The park is so quiet despite a few young guys driving with their loud exhaust and music. Fresh air and great nature with birds and squirrels.I was surprised that not many people were down there.Maybe more in the morning and evening.
We rode for a few laps ,about 3 miles and headed for home. But our truck won't start, something wrong with the fuel pump. Managed to drag the truck halfway and I have to ride the bike home and brought another vehicle to pull it back.
Wow, it was a real sweaty day.
I encourage you to go walk or ride in the park or bring your family for a picnic.
There is no fee charged .It is not too far from town, you will enjoy the serenity of the park. Carver Park of Columbus.

Lunch At Country's Barbecue

We had lunch at Country's Barbecue on Saturday. Country's Barbecue is famous for their Barbecue Ribs and Chicken . There are 3 locations, one on 1329 Broadway, one on 6298 Veterans Parkway, and one on 3137 ,Mercury Drive, Columbus ,Georgia.
We went to the Mercury Drive's location. Located on the back, this restaurant is always busy.
The building looks old, and inside is really antique looking, with a lot of antique decorations like those Coco Cola's Signs. They were crowded and has about 6 waitresses.
We ordered Sweet tea with lemon. My husband ordered the BBQ Ribs Platter and I had the BBQ Chicken Platter. The sweet tea comes in a pickle jar glass. The ribs plate comes with 2 sides, a french toast and some pickles and onions.The sides are baked sweet potatoes and cream corn.
My BBQ chicken comes with a half chicken with 2 sides, black eye peas and cream corn with a french toast.I liked my chicken, a little dry, but the ribs were a little tough.
The ticket came up to $21.08. We could not finish all, and had a togo plate to take home.

Saturday's Dinner at TGIF

TGIF on Saturday. I asked for a night off from work, since it was after the 4th and business is not that busy. We decided to eat out . Have planned to go to Cheddars but when we arrived , the line was so long. Then, about to go to Red Lobster but we could not find a parking space. I could not believe all these restaurants were so busy. Driving around for 10 minutes, TGIF was not too busy , so we that's where we ended.
Sitting at the corner of Whitesville and Whitlessey Road, this medium size restaurant is very cozy and nice. As you entered, there are a few Host and Hostesses, greeted you and one led you to your table. Music over the speaker, they were quite full. They had a smoking and not smoking rooms. We opted for not smoking.
Simple country decoration with retro design. A long wooden kayak stayed on top of the beams.
Our waitress was friendly, took our drink order. I wanted Sweet Tea and my husband asked for a Mudslide. She bought our drinks but the tea was not sweet at all and the Mudslide tasted too bitter for me. A little too much alcohol.

Then we ordered our dinner. I ordered the Bruschette Pasta with Grilled Chicken,
and my husband asked for the Jack Daniel Trio.
Dinner came about 10 minutes. My Pasta comes in a big round plate. Pasta cooked with
tomatoes and onions, tossed with tomatoes sauce. Chicken perfectly grilled and laid on top of pasta.
The Jack Daniel Trio comes with 1/2 a stack of baby ribs, barbecued and braised with Jack Daniel sauce, some Jumbo Fried Shrimp and Sesame Braised Chicken on top of a small bed of Salad. Served on a Hugh Plate.The ribs has a very good tangy taste, Shrimp perfectly fried and the sesame chicken is crispy, but a little to the sweet side.
But we did finished our dinner. The ticket came up to $35.05 .Plus $5.00 tips.
That Mudslide cost $6.95.We did enjoyed our dinner.

TGIF has a menu that is reasonable and gives you a variety . Asian,Mexican ,Italian and American cuisine.

We had a great celebration here in Columbus,Georgia. We went to downtown where every year they have the Thunder on the Hooch Celebration, organized by WTVM and many other businesses here. They have a lot of rides and games for the kids, and vendors selling lemonade, soda, Burgers, crafts and different kinds of food, Terriyakis, Sandwiches and Funnel Cakes.
There was also a Water Melon Eating Contest.
Families ,young and old, parents and kids were enjoying themselves and ready to camp out there waiting for night to come to enjoy the great display of Fireworks.As it gets dark, more and more people are coming out.

After the trip to the Hooch, we went to A friend's house and enjoyed Barbecue ribs and wings, hot dogs and sausages and grilled shrimp. And had some beers and Margaritas. Also some birthday cake as it was Lisa and Amy's birthdays.
It was a great day of Celebration- Happy July 4 th.

Birthday Party at Golden Corral

Monday was Memorial Day , a holiday and my husband birthday was on Tuesday. Since it was a holiday we decided to celebrate on Monday. Our family and a few invited Family friends had lunch at the Golden Corral.
Golden Corral, is a large family restaurant serving an American Supper Buffet. It has been opened for more that 15 years ,offering a varieties of Hot Food and Cold Salad Bar,and Dessert Bar. There are more than 150 items ranging from Rotisserie Chicken,Hot Wings, Meat Loaf, Fresh Grilled Pork Chop, Mashed Potatoes, Collard Greens,Fried Catfish,Soup and different vegetables. A great salad bar, you can mix and match your own. Also has some Mexican items, like Tacos. On the dessert bar, there are a varieties of Home make cakes, Double Chocolate Cakes, Strawberry Shortcakes, Cheesecake and Brownies. I love their Roll, very fresh.
Lunch per person is $7.39 plus $2.19 for Soft drinks. Since I had a coupon we only pay $4.99 per person , but you have to buy a drink each. Still we save about $15 for 7 adults and 2 children.
We really enjoyed our Lunch as we dine and chat. At the end , a group of waitress came over to sing their birthday rhyming song to my husband.
It was a perfect party.

Lunch At Hong Kong Buffett

Amanda Carroll, my best friend Joan's little girl is finally graduating from High School this week, so On Sunday I decided to take them out for Lunch at the Hong Kong Supper Buffet Restaurant. Located on Bradley Park near Target,this restaurant is spacious.They have been opened for more than 3 years.
Walking in, is a big water fountain, with some gold fishes.
There is a party room for big group. And five or six buffet tables serving more that 200 items ranging from Chinese, Japanese , American and Mexican Cuisines.
Some of the favourites include, Sesame Chicken, Terriyaki Chicken, Sushi, Pizza,Soup ,Salad and Desserts.
Lunch for only $5.95 plus tax per person, this is a good deal and we had a coupon for 75 cents discount per person. We really enjoyed our lunch except service is not satisfied. We had waitresses that hardly speak English and a Gloomy face.
But, the food is fresh and delicious.
Our tickets came up to $36.00 with the discount(5 Persons)plus $7.00 Tips.

Tupelo to Atlanta via I20 East

We did not fill up the gas tank, as the Pump did accept my Husband's Debit Card. Having half a tank of gas left, we decided to drive to Birmingham ,Alabama to get gas.Bright sunshine with cool breeze we strolled along Highway 78 East. This is a new highway, 78 East corner(The Future I 22)There were not much traffic and it cut our trip to Birmingham for about 30 minutes. Not much excitement but saw a few States Troopers on the side of the Highway waiting for Speeders. And we saw a 18 Wheeler flipped on the side, and people carrying away crates of Oranges.
Reached Birmingham and the lite for empty gas was on, and we stopped by to fill up the tank. Not too hungry, we continued our journey to Atlanta via I20 East,passing town like Talladega and Douglasville. Almost to Atlanta, the traffic were heavy.
Reached Atlanta at 4pm, went to Old China Town to meet some friends, Ate some Ribs Noodles and a bowl of Wonton soup. For less than $10.00 we got a big bowl of Noodles and a bowl of more than 25 wontons. Delicious.
Then went to Din How Supermarket to get some Chinese groceries, steamed buns, vegetables and Soy Drinks.Also bought some delicious Roast pork bun, red bean bun and some egg tart. We love the Hong Kong Deli, they have the best buns.
Almost 6 pm we drove to Chamblee, to meet our son(study in Georgia Tech) for Dinner.
He took us to the Vietnamese Cafe. A small little restaurant with a lot of bamboos decoration, and large print of the food served,it is very cozy. They were so busy.
We waited a little while, the waitress served us drinks and took a while to get our order. We ordered some Shrimp Roll, Chicken Sate and my son ordered the Vermicelli bow.Also some Shrimp and Sweet Potatoes fries.Food came fast, Chicken sate is okay. The Shrimp has some big shrimp in it,but the Vermicelli was loaded with Chicken and Shrimp,lettuce and parsley.We loved the Shrimp and Sweet Potatoes fries. The fries were crunchy with a sweet taste. Also, had Bubble Tea.
Our ticket came up to $26.10 plus $5.00 tip.
After dinner, drove another 2 hours back to Columbus,Georgia. It was a long and tired weekend, but enjoyable.

Chinese New Year 2008.

Being thousands of miles away from home in the United States, Chinese New Year is not a big event to celebrate for our family and a lot of Chinese families here. Christmas and Thanksgiving is more important.
Although in a foreign land, many of us Asians in America still keep our customs and traditions. The Reunion Dinner is very important. I did not prepare this for our family, as most of us are either away, to college or at work. Every year we usually were invited by one Chinese family, usually they owned a Restaurant and many of the friends and families would come together, also with some Americans Friends to have the Reunion Dinner.
This year we went to the China First Restaurant, owned by Kai Zheng and Amy.They cooked up a lot of food, Pork Chop, Stirfried Duck, Steamed Fish, Stir fried Crab,
Spicy Shrimp, Chilli Garlic Snail,Fish Roe Soup, Duck Feet, Rice Noodles, Cheesecake and cup cakes. We have a lot of beers, Tsingtao , Heineken, Japanese Plum Wine,and BudLight.
About 30 people came. We ate a lot, watch one Chinese Movie and sang Karoake. We gave out AngPow to the little kids, some big kids too. They were very happy.
The food was so good, not the daily buffet they served American Customer, but some
real Chinese Home Style.We had a really Good Time.We have to leave at 12 am, as many of us still have to work and the kids have to go to school.We do not have Official Holiday here, still have to work on Chinese New Year. I wished I was at home , holiday for whole week and really enjoy the New Year,. Anyhow we all had a great time.
