$25,000 dessert Restaurant Got Busted

Any one tried the most expensive sundae dessert yet. ? It must be so good that the mice love them too.
A New York restaurant that set a record this month for the world's most expensive dessert — a $25,000 US chocolate treat — has been closed temporarily by the health department after failing a second consecutive inspection, local news outlets reported Thursday.

WNBC-TV said inspectors saw a live mouse, mouse droppings, fruit flies, house flies and more than 100 cockroaches at Serendipity 3 on East 60th St.

The restaurant, immortalized in film and famed for long lineups, made headlines in early November when its Frrrozen Haute Chocolate — a blend of cocoas from 14 countries, mixed with five grams of gold and served with a side of French truffles — set a Guinness world record for the priciest dessert.

Next time you go dine in at an expensive restaurant, make sure you check the Health
Inspection Score and read the violations written on it.

Bento Box at Tako Restaurant.

After training at Atlanta, we drove back to Columbus, went to recruit a few people to join our great team at YTB Travel Network. We were hungry so I brought my friend ,Anita to have dinner at the Tako Restaurant. She liked Shasimi(raw fish) and I loved the Sushi there. They made some fresh sushi's.Also, the young guy that owns the Tako restaurant speaks the same dialect ,me and Anita spoke, Hakka. You can't find a lot of Hakka people in America, a lot of Cantonese and Fijians that speak Mandarin. When you meet someone who speak your dialect, you feel so at home.
The waitress brought us some Hot Green Tea. We ordered a combo plate with Shasimi and California roll and a Bento Box.
To start with , Anita had salad and I have Miso soup. The soup had seaweed and cubes of tofu in it.,miso based. Tasted delicious.
Then came our Shasimi plate, 10 pieces of hand rolled Shasimi, with a varieties, yellow fin, tuna and salmon . I don't quite like the Wasabi, too hot. I preferred with a little dip of hot pepper sauce. Also we have some California roll, Rice rolled in seaweed ,with some crab meat and avocado slices.Good with some pickle gingers.
Then came my Bento Box, a large beautiful Oriental box filled with goodies.
Came with 2 large Tempura Shrimp, so crispy, White rice, 8 pieces of California Roll, 2 pieces of Fried Sweet Potatoes,2 pieces of Siu Mai(steam minced pork and shrimp on a wonton wrapper)some tossed salad with great salad dressing, and a big piece of well grilled Terriyaki chicken on a bed of steam cabbage. The bento box is only $13.95 .And we could not finish the whole meal, a togo box was needed.
I also a small plate of Broccoli Chicken to take home for my husband. Tako Restaurant not only served Japanese but also Chinese cuisine. I liked the Japanese food better. They also have delivery service.
We were so full, and the whole ticket is only $32.00 (by the way he gave us 20% off)
It is good to go eat at some restaurant that you know the owner, you can get discounts or maybe free sometimes.
We were real satisfied with our Dinner, I recommend the Tako Restaurant, at Double Churches Road, in Columbus ,Georgia . If you come , please visit them, tell them I sent you, you might get a discount.

King of All Desserts- A $25,000 Chocolate Sundae

What will you buy with $25,000 ? I am sure can I come up with a lot of uses for it. Maybe buy me a car,go travel or put a downpayment for a new house. But,Would you spend it on some chocolate sundae?
A day after New York City came up with a $1,000 bagel, a local restaurateur unveiled a $25,000 chocolate sundae on Wednesday, setting a Guinness world record for the most expensive dessert. This is King of All Desserts

Stephen Bruce, owner of Serendipity 3, partnered with luxury jeweler Euphoria New York to create the "Frrozen Haute Chocolate," a blend of 28 cocoas, including 14 of the most expensive and exotic from around the globe.

The dessert, spelled with two Rs, is infused with 5 grams (0.2 ounces) of edible 23-karat gold and served in a goblet lined with edible gold. At the base of the goblet is an 18-karat gold bracelet with 1 carat of white diamonds.

The sundae is topped with whipped cream covered with more gold and a side of La Madeline au Truffle from Knipschildt Chocolatier, which sells for $2,600 a pound.

It is eaten with a gold spoon decorated with white and chocolate-colored diamonds, which can also be taken home.

"It took us a long time to experiment with all the ingredients and flavors, and more than three months were needed just to design the golden spoon," Bruce told Reuters.

Four years ago, Bruce unveiled a $1,000 ice cream sundae called Golden Opulence, a staple on his menu and a favorite with rock stars, socialites and other celebrities.

Both desserts are sold only with advance orders. Bruce said he has received inquiries about his latest creation, mostly from Europeans planning to visit New York.

"I wouldn't be surprised if soon we get a call from a Middle Eastern prince or Shah willing to give something sweet to his many wives on his next trip to the city," Bruce said.

On Tuesday, New York chef Frank Tujague of The Westin New York hotel at Times Square unveiled the $1,000 bagel, topped with white truffle cream cheese and goji berry infused Riesling jelly with golden leaves. Sales will help raise funds for culinary school scholarships.

A bowl of Wonton Soup Noodles

I do not have to work today. After running some errands and feeling a little hungry , I have a craving for some Wonton Soup Noodles. My son didn't like Vietnamese cuisine, and husband was not in town. So I decided to enjoy my leisure lunch alone. Actually almost 3.30 pm, I drove to the PhoVY Vietnamese Restaurant at River Road, Columbus,Georgia.
Since lunch hour is over, I was the only customer. They are actually famous for their Pho (Beef Noodles soup).Recently, I discovered they also made good Wonton Soup Noodles.
So, I sat down and ordered me a bowl Wonton soup noodles and a glass of soy bean milk. Actually comes in a can with a glass of ice. The Wonton Soup noodles is a bowl of egg noodles or Wonton Mee, thin yellow noodles with clear chicken broth. Served with 5-6 wontons, homemade ,minced pork wrapped in wonton skin. Also some thin slice of roast pork. The soup has some green onions on it and they gave me a plate of beansprout ,lettuce and some raw green chili peppers. They are spicy hot. I like to put a little Siriracha hot sauce on mine, gave a little twang. I also ordered some
fried pork , they are so fragrant and fried crispy, only a little greasy.
I really enjoyed my noodles, and I took my sweet leisure time, eating them and enjoying the Vietnamese music playing on the radio, though I could not understand what they sang.It was some Chinese songs translated to Vietnamese.
It was a great lunch, I loved the really home-cooked style, reminded me of my hometown back in Malaysia. All those delicious home town cooking I have missed.
Sorry, no photo this time, I forgot to bring my camera.
And the ticket came up to $9.84. Not bad for a satisfied meal.
