It was my best friend, Joan's birthday on Wednesday . She and her kids, Amanda,John and my youngest son ,had came to Panama City for a vacation. After having fun at the beach, sunbathing, swimming, beach walk , shopping at Pier Park's Mall and eating lunch at Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, they are leaving in the morning.
So I decided to take them out for lunch at Chow Time Buffet and Grill. This is actually a Chinese restaurant serving super buffet with Chinese, American,Mexican and Japanese food. Almost 250 items, and lunch is only $6.99.
We love the sushi, the grilled Salmon and the best is their Beef Ribs. A giant piece of Beef ribs with tangelizing sauce. Not a lot of meat but delicious. Other items include a great variety of shrimps, chicken, and stir fried. Also A desert bar, Fruit bar, salad bar and ice cream bar.
After the meal , I told the waiter, it was my friend's birthday and he went in to prepare us a birthday cake. All the waiters came around to sing Joan a Happy Birthday song. She was really happy.
We had great lunch and happy moments. The ticket came up to $46.65.Very reasonable for a great lunch

T-Bone Steak for Dinner
Last Thursday, some guys knock on my door, and they were from A Meat Wholesaler from Albany, selling boxes of Steak ,Chicken and Shrimp. The price per box of six was like $360.00 but who is going to pay so much.
He offered me a box of consisting of 2 small boxes of 6 T.bone Steaks each, two ribeye, and two New York Strips. You can Mix and match or exchange for chicken or shrimp. Of course being Thrifty , I have to Bargain.I offered him $100.00 for the five boxes of Steak, 2 T-bones, 1 New York Strip,1 Ribeye and 1 case of Shrimp. But, he will not take the offer, and we agreed on $140.00, that comes up to about $4.00 per steak. Not bad.
So we decided to cook at home the whole week instead of eating out. We cooked some T-bones and it was delicious, The meat is very tender and juicy. Just defrost the steak, seasoned it with salt and peppered and some McCormick Original SeasonAll Salt .Grill for 10-15 minutes , depend on how you want it, rare, medium or well done.
Served with some potato salad ,mashed potatoes, toasted bread or steam vegetables, topped with A1 Sauce or Bar-b-que sauce.
You have a very delicious and economy steak dinner, why spend $20 to eat out at high-end restaurant.

Lunch At Hong Kong Buffett
Amanda Carroll, my best friend Joan's little girl is finally graduating from High School this week, so On Sunday I decided to take them out for Lunch at the Hong Kong Supper Buffet Restaurant. Located on Bradley Park near Target, this restaurant is spacious. They have been opened for more than 3 years.
Walking in, is a big water fountain, with some gold fishes.
There is a party room for big group. And five or six buffet tables serving more that 200 items ranging from Chinese, Japanese , American and Mexican Cuisines.
Some of the favourites include, Sesame Chicken, Terriyaki Chicken, Sushi, Pizza,Soup ,Salad and Desserts.
Lunch for only $5.95 plus tax per person, this is a good deal and we had a coupon for 75 cents discount per person. We really enjoyed our lunch except service is not satisfied. We had waitresses that hardly speak English and a Gloomy face.
But, the food is fresh and delicious.
Our tickets came up to $36.00 with the discount(5 Persons)plus $7.00 Tips.

In Memory of Mildred"The Pigeon Lady " of Columbus
Living in Columbus,Georgia for more than 15 years, I have always seen her at the downtown area and 13th Street area. She always pushed a grocery cart, with some groceries and a big bag of birds seed. She is Miss Midred Veasley Upshaw. She live a simple life of a homeless person. She lived on the street ,camping at the curb on Columbus Cherry Avenue and by the downtown area. She has a pot, where she sometimes cook by her campsite. She bought Johnnie Walker Red Label Scothch at Mr B's liqour store. She love the pigeons and they loved her. She fed them from the seed bags she bought with her groceries at Lewis Jones on 13 th Street.
That's why she got her nick name "The Pigeon Lady of Columbus".
She chose to live a life without walls. Some say she is a little mental but some said that she is highly educated and she is very rich. She lived the way she wanted to live, says her relative. She chose to roam, stubbornly refusing relatives' offer to help her find a home. Despite her odd choices ,she had no mental illness. She never go on welfare and never accept donation from anyone. Once I tried to give her a few dollars, but she told me to go away. She always
buy her seeds, meat, charcoal and firewood. She never get drunk, she never bothered anyone. She lived a simple quiet life on the street .
Her simple life ended last Tuesday morning when she died of hypothermia, and that sad news has prompted people to call the Columbus Ledger newspaper and coroner to ask what they can do and when her funeral. Her funeral was at 4pm at the Sconier's Funeral Home at 836,Fifth Ave. Columbus, where visitors will be given 2 minutes to share a memory of her Life. Her family has asked that in lieu of flowers, to make a donation for a local homeless shelter.
Miss Upshaw was born Oct.31,1928, in Waverly Hall,Ga. She was 79.
A lot of residents in Columbus has missed The Pigeon Lady. "You can't imagine how many hearts she's touched" said Wyatt ,an employee of Lewis Jones. "She 's like part of Columbus,Georgia". She always refused offers of food, money or blankets.
What remained of Miss Upshaw's other possessions still lay scattered Friday at the curb on Cherry Avenue where four bundles of flowers were braced against a tree to which was tacked a wooden sign that read: We'll miss you, Ms Mildred. Your Lewis Jones Family".
The Pigeon Lady of Columbus will always be remembered by manyt of us here in Columbus. We Missed You, Miss Upshaw.Who is going to feed the pigeons now?

Happy New Year 2008
2007 Gone and Welcome 2008. I could not believe that the year has gone by so fast. And A brand New Year is ahead of us.Nothing major happened last year, we have no Hurricane, nor real cool weather in the South here. Gas was going up, and a little steady the last few months. Economy was not growing and neither was the stock market. But I know Google's stock has gone up to $700 since the last 2 years. I regretted not buying any when it was first listed.
A lot of businesses have been complaining that it was not a good year.Business was not growing . A lot of my friends who are in the restaurant business had been complaining about slow business. Maybe there are too many restaurants now, whether Chinese, Italian, Mexican or American.
It looked like Walmart is having good business because in Columbus ,Georgia here they have been 4 Brand New Super Walmart.
For Myself, 2007 is a peaceful year for me and my family. Nothing major happened, we sold our Hot Wings Restaurant, and I am able to have more time to venture in to other business while my husband got a very good and steady job but he has to travel a lot. This year I started my blog and wokandleisure is my very first blog. Though I did not earn much income from Google Adsense , only a few cents here and there, I was able to look in to many affiliates program and Internet business opportunities, and also learned a lot from ebooks and online communities. I also get to know a lot of online friends and buddies from communities like http://218876.lawnchairmillionaire.com, www.lazzeo.com/lai888, www.adlandpro.com,
directmatches,ojeez and www.mybloglog.com/buzz/members/Laibiz
I have joined a few business opportunities. www.lai888.jerkydirect.com,
www.loftyprofits.com/?user=Lai88,
Lawnchairmillioaire.com and http://ladybug888.3500weekly.hop.clickbank.net
I have only received a few checks of $2.00 from Jerkydirect, but they have some tasty and healthy jerkys. I earned $60 from Loftyprofits but the have to hold till I earn $100 for me to get a check. Others, I hope to see more earning in the New Year ahead. This my resolution , to earn more on the Internet in the year 2008. I know I have a lot to learn and explore.
Family wise, everyone is healthy, my eldest gone to college in Georgia Tech in Atlanta. My youngest hopefully can graduate this year, he is not too enthusiastic in school.Spent too much time playing war craft on the Internet. Hope he can explore and earn online.
I got to learnt a lot from bloggers online. I really admired bloggers like
Johnchow, Shoemoney, Johncow etc. I wondered how people like John Chow can earn so much being a blogger. I loved to read www.johnchow.com, he really gave me a lot of inspirations. His blog is very interesting.
So out the old 2007, and in the New 2008. Hope this is a better year for everyone , whether on the Internet business or Brick and Mortar business. Hope every have success and a great year ahead, not only in the United States but around the world. In Chinese the number 8, represents prosperity.
