Lunch At Fuji Japanese Restaurant-Panama City ,Florida

We saw the ad that Fuji Restaurant has a grand opening, so we went to try it out. They Had Japanese "All You Can Eat Buffet".I think they had just opened about a few week only.
Fuji Japanese Restaurant is located on 232,S .Tyndall Parkway ,Panama City ,Florida.

When we arrived about 1 pm, we noticed the parking lot is empty, just a few cars. The building is decorated with colorful flags and at the entrance are two big stones Kirin lions. As we walked in, we noticed just a few Japanese Art decor. There is a
Wishing well fountain and there are mostly Chinese decorations, Chinese wind charms,green Chinese roof on the Hibachi Tables, and all chinese waitresses and chef.This restaurant is actually owned by Chinese.

There are about 7 hot bar, 2 sushi bar, a cold bar ,a Hibachi Grill and a Mongolian Grill(What is the difference, they look the same)
On the Sushi Bar, there is a variety of different sushi, California roll,Eel roll,Sashimi and many colorful roll. Also Japanese Salad-seaweed salad. On the cold bar, are salad bar, fruits and some condiments.

Over at the hot bar, you are surprised that most of the dishes are typically Chinese favourites-Sesame Chicken,Broccoli Chicken,Lomein, Fried Rice. I did not see any
Japanese dishes. Not even Miso Soup, only Hot and Sour Soup and Egg drop soup.

At the Hibachi Grill , you can pick up your own choice of meat,shrimp,pork,Beef or chicken, and vegetables-onions,green pepper, beansprouts,mushroom and noodles. They are all fresh and raw and you let the Hibachi Chef cook it for you on the grill . I tried to check out the difference between Hibachi and Mongolian. I saw a handwritten note pasted that said Mongolian sauce is sweeter. I guess not much difference.

After finished we tried some fruits. I wanted to try the cakes, but my husband said it was too sweet.

Out ticket came up to $19.10 for lunch, about 8.99 a person. Not bad, consider it cost that much for a plate of sushi or Hibachi if you go to an authentic Japanese Restaurant. However, the service is not that satisfied. After, serving our drinks, we hardly see any waitresses around, consider there were only 5 or 6 tables of customers.So only $3.00 tips.

Dinner at The Tien

It was my husband's 50th Birthday yesterday. Since we are in Biloxi and our friend recommended, we had Dinner at The Tien. This restaurant offers All You Can Eat Buffet. It is located on the 2nd floor, inside the Imperial Palace Casino.
Since Katrina,the Imperial had moved inland, located on at Bayview on the side of Highway 110.

We were there like 7pm and there was already a long line of maybe 100 people.However , the line move fast.Something different, there was no cashier, only a few host, guiding you to order on the computer screen and insert your money or Credit card into the ATM Machine. I guess this is a great way to prevent thief and robbery.

The restaurant is beautiful decorated. There was a long line of hot and cold bar.
A varieties of Oriental style with Vietnamese Pho, Spring Roll,Stirfried,Southern Cooking of Collard Greens,,Black Eye Peas, Fried Chicken and Barbecue. On the Grill are Steak and Turkey. A Fruit Bar with Chocolate Fountain, and Dessert Bar consist of so many kind of great desert, from Brownies, Mississippi Mud Pie, Cheesecakes and Red Velvet Cake. And the Best part that everyone loves is the Seafood Bar with all the shrimps,clams and the Giant Crab Claws.

Everyone ate so much and were so satisfied and full.The buffet cost $22.00 per person.

Lunch at Royal Super Buffet,Gulfport ,Mississippi

Monday, we drove 5 hours to Gulfport,Mississippi to submit plans for a project. We had lunch at the Royal Super Buffet, A very large Chinese Restaurant, located by the Giant Food,Supermarket on Highway 49 North, to Hattiesburg,Mississippi.
The restaurant serves a variety of Chinese,Japanese And Mexican Food on the Buffet line.
Chinese foods ranged from Sesame Chicken,Chicken on a Stick, Mongolian Beef, Broccoli Beef, Honey Chicken , Chicken Wings, Fried and Steamed Fish, Spicy Shrimp,Fried Shrimp etc.

Japanese is variety of Sushi Roll, California roll, and Philadelphia Roll.Some Quissadelia and tacos on the Mexican bar. Also Salad, Soup, Fruits and Dessert Bar. Also soft served Ice cream.

If you want something fresh, pick up your choice of vegetables ,meat and noodles from the Hibachi Bar, and let the chef cook for you, add your garlic and hot chili sauce if you like spicy, like me. Remember to drop a tip on the tip jar.

There is really a lot of food, more than 200 items.And All That You Can Eat for lunch is only $6.99 per person, exclude drinks. Well Worth it.
The food is not bad, just not well presented. Service is not that good, they only came to clear your plates.Total ticket came up to $17.00 plus $2.00 tips

Have a great lunch, did some work at the City Hall, and by 4.30 we drove back to Montgomery , almost 4 hours and later drove back to Birmingham ,Alabama.

Jumbo China Super Buffett

It was Amanda and John Carroll's Birthday last week. We had a small party for them on last Sunday . We decided to eat at the Jumbo China Super Buffet. We, The Tans and The Carrolls and The Mas had lunch there. We went early at 1130 am so we can have all the fresh food and before the Churches' crowd.
We sat at the party room.

Jumbo China Super Buffet is located at 2435,Wynnton Road. This building was a spa place. They renovated it in to a Jumbo Buffett restaurant serving Oriental food. The Lunch Buffet is only $5.95 Daily from 11.00 am to 3.30 pm. Dinner Buffet is $8.55.Children under 10 is $2.99 For lunch and $3.99 for dinner.

This is very affordable and a good deal.Senior Citizen and military enjoys 10% off. And if you want carry out , Lunch is $2.99 per pound,dinner $3.99 per pound.

On the Buffet line , you find a fruits and dessert bar, a Sushi Bar, 2 Hot bars, with fried food and stir fried. Also soup and dim sum . And best of all they had a terriyaki grill. You can pick up the fresh meat with rice or noodles and your choice of vegetables and the chef will cook for you free. Just drop a tip into the tip jar.

On the sushi bar is a variety of hand roll sushi, California roll, eel sushi,shrimp and spider roll. All freshly rolled.On the Hot bar, they had fried shrimp,fried crab stick,sweet and sour chicken, chicken nuggets,rolls,pizza and many more. On the other line, are stir fries from Moo Goo Gai Pan, Peppered Chicken,Broccoli Beef, Mongolian Beef,Sesame Chicken,Mee Fun and Lo Mien.

The Dessert bar has lots of fruits, oranges, Honey dew melons,mandarin oranges,lychees and different kind of cakes and cookies. I loved the Coffee Chocolate Cake. They also served cocktail shrimp and Mussells and Oyster.
There are more than 100 items. At Dinner time, they also served King Crabs.

The food are very fresh, and good service.

Everyone ate so much. We bought our Birthday cake,Italian Creme Cheese. Sang Birthday song and Mandy blew the candles. Had a great time and very satisfying lunch.

I do recommend Jumbo China Super Buffet for a great affordable lunch.

Lunch At Taj Mahal Restaurant

Instead of having Korean Food for Lunch at the Mandarin house with my new friend, Elizabeth, we decided to go for Indian food at the Taj Mahal.

Taj Mahal is the one and only Indian restaurant serving real Indian Cuisine in Columbus ,Georgia.
It is locate at 2009,Auburn Avenue,Columbus,Ga 31906. Tel: 706-568-9992.
Go on Macon Road, pass K-Mart, and turn right on Auburn Avenue. Located on a plaza, across from Freds.
Taj Mahal is closed on Monday, open everyday for Lunch from 11.30 am till 2.30pm and Dinner 5.30 pm till 10.00 pm.
They serve a Lunch Buffet with a small buffet line consist of White Rice,Briyani Rice,Chicken Masala,Aloo Mattar,Curry Beef, Chutney,Salad and some kind of Sweet Cheese Ball with Syrup.Also Chana Masala ,and Onion Bhajia.
And the waiter brings you a big pitcher of water and some Chappati Bread.

As you entered you will be wondering whether this is An Indian Restaurant or Chinese Restaurant.Despite the color combination of Indian Flavor, this restaurant is decorated with Chinese Decor, Chinese Ceiling , Chinese Lanterns and Painting. You see the story behind this, is this was a Chinese Restaurant before. The Famous China Star which was famous in Columbus many years ago. The new Indian Restaurant Owner decided to keep it as it was.

The food is not bad. I loved the Curry,Briyani Rice and the Roti but one bite on the Chutney turned Sour. It was so Sour,Spicy and Salty. I guess you have to mixed just a little with your rice or roti to eat it. Another thing is the CheesseBall, it was way too sweet. My sugar just ran high with one bite.

I understood that lunch buffet was $6.99 per person, but we did not ask how our che ck came up to $23.12 for 2 person. Something is missing here.

Beside Buffet, Taj Mahal also serve a variety of Indian Cuisine.

Briyani- Basmati rice cooked with your choice of shrimp, chicken or lamb.
Chappati- Thin Whole Wheat Rosted Bread.
Chutney- Pickle Vegetables, Sour, Salty and Spicy
Chicken Masala-Boneles Chicken cooked in Special Masala Sauce.
Chicken Kurma- Boneless Chicken with Yogurt,Nuts And Spices
Onion Bhajia- Onion Fritters served with Chutney
Vegetable Samosa- Crispy Turnover,deliciously filled with Mildly spiced ootatoes and green peas.

If you loved Spicy food, I recommend the Taj Mahal.

A Happy Birthday !!

Today is my birthday. I turned 48 today, well on my way to middle age now.
Half a century gone.
Not a big celebration but did went out to have lunch at the Golden Corral Super Buffet on Sunday with my friends and family.Ate too much.
Today I had breakfast at Dennys with my husband.
Just another peaceful and happy day and I am thankful for my health and family. For my loving husband and my two sons. Could not have asked for more. Be Content.

Lunch At Hong Kong Buffett

Amanda Carroll, my best friend Joan's little girl is finally graduating from High School this week, so On Sunday I decided to take them out for Lunch at the Hong Kong Supper Buffet Restaurant. Located on Bradley Park near Target,this restaurant is spacious.They have been opened for more than 3 years.
Walking in, is a big water fountain, with some gold fishes.
There is a party room for big group. And five or six buffet tables serving more that 200 items ranging from Chinese, Japanese , American and Mexican Cuisines.
Some of the favourites include, Sesame Chicken, Terriyaki Chicken, Sushi, Pizza,Soup ,Salad and Desserts.
Lunch for only $5.95 plus tax per person, this is a good deal and we had a coupon for 75 cents discount per person. We really enjoyed our lunch except service is not satisfied. We had waitresses that hardly speak English and a Gloomy face.
But, the food is fresh and delicious.
Our tickets came up to $36.00 with the discount(5 Persons)plus $7.00 Tips.
